Did you know.. that a person who has worn
spectacles, even with clear un-coated plastic lenses, for
20 years - can delay the onset of cataracts for 6 years..
Ultra-violet radiation and its effects on the eye
People are spending more leisure
time out of doors golfing, skiing, fishing, walking, gardening.
This poses an increased risk to their eyes from ultraviolet
(UV) radiation. UV exposure can have detrimental effects
on the eye such as inflammation of the front of the eye,
cataracts and accelerated age related changes at the back
of the eye (macular degeneration). It is not only direct
sunlight that is the primary risk but also reflected radiation
from snow, rivers and lakes. Some medications such as some
types of the contraceptive pill can magnify the effects
of UV.
All the MKO branches stock a large selection of spectacle frames that can be used for prescription sunglasses, from only: [see price list]. The all-in-one price for the prescription sunspecs is something we provide all the time but we usually run an offer for a free pair during the summer months. For details of current promotions see our [News page].
IF YOU DON'T NEED PRESCRIPTION
SUNSPECS HOW ABOUT A PAIR OF RAYBANS OR DESIGNER NAME
SUNSPECS!

The quality of Rayban frames
gets better every year and the current styles are terrific.
A large selection of the Rayban range can be found in
several of our practices including: Herries Road, Manor
Road and Totley. |
About half a dozen Rayban
sunglasses now have polarised lenses, the ultimate glare
buster. It's strange how the
"in-sunspecs" are so different from the "in-prescription"
specs. A lot of the sunglasses are deeper and wider which
we suppose is what you want from sunglasses. Quite a lot
of sunglass frames will take a prescription lens if you
want it. There are some that are just a pure fashion accessory
- rimless wraparound with only a "hint of a tint".
Different shades for different outfits.
